What to expect.
It can be quite an emotional experience to see your house pulled apart for the first time, see through walls that once stood and defined your living spaces. That is why we suggest you move out during the process if at all feasible and maybe depending on your character do not come to view until after the demolition stage has been completed. During this stage it is messy and dirty and dust wafts throughout the house and it is surprising how much dust a wall contains, particularly if we are cutting out a brick wall, the dust produced is fine and red and goes everywhere. To the owner it can look like we are destroying the home they love, in fact we are, but only at their request.
If you remain in the house expect workers to be workers, we clean up at the end of everyday but while we work we will be noisy and dirty in the demolition stage and noisy and active in the construction stage. At this point remember it is a construction zone and not at present the living areas you are used to treating in a more genteel manner.
If there are children present they must be kept out of the work area at all times, including after we finish for the day as there will be tools and electrical appliances stored overnight in the work area.

Time line.
We understand you want what you want and we will endeavour to accommodate that time constraint but in the end I can guarantee you there will be unforeseen difficulties and problems and delays. As we commence work and walls come down the secrets of your home are revealed, damaged frame work, old electrics, shonky repairs and the list could go on and on. As well, we are only human and we will get man flus and other just as extreme ailments that will bring us low.
You must enter into the project understanding it is not a computer program running in a lineal line but a human project working with timber and time. Keep flexibility in your mental tool box and understand you may have to change your ideas and plans as the project rolls on. On the other side of the coin we will understand the above and also that you may just whimsically alter the plans as you see new ideas emerge from the dust and you have the right to do so as this is your home and you will be living in it and need to be happy with the end result, not us.
If you want a rush job for a cheap price we won’t take on your project.
We stay away from rush jobs as stress will only create poor workmanship and I am too old to work under unnecessary pressure.
Keep in mind time pressures create short cuts and a tight budget will only give you what you pay for.
